The LAC LA CROIX INDIAN PONY SOCIETY was formed to encompass a group of like-minded people dedicated to the rescue and preservation of the Lac La Croix Indian Pony. Our immediate mission is to re-educate the general public about this truly wonderful animal of Canadian Heritage. Our long term goal is a self-sustainable breed enjoyed by all and Breed Recognition under the Animal Pedigree Act. Through static displays, advertising materials, and live on-site display at fairs and events throughout the year, the breed is actively promoted. As the LLCIP history says, there were four surviving mares rescued from Lac La Croix First Nations and spirited across the Canada-US Border in order to save their lives.
